[Deconstruction] Chanel 25 Bag 25A – Small

Apr 15, 2026 StrangeKrist

Reverse Engineering Start Date: June 10, 2025

This is the deconstruction log for the Bruce Studio Chanel 25 Bag 25A – Small

It’s a long-form post. The complete journey is split into:

Deconstruction → Production → Finished Product Showcase & Comparison

Chanel "25 Bag" 25A Small

Retail Price: 47,800 RMB

Named after the year, the "25 Bag" is easily one of Chanel’s most hyped releases for 2025. The on-body look is incredible—I highly recommend visiting a boutique to try it on before committing.

Pre-Teardown Prep

Product Overview

⚠️ Note: Leather materials vary by season. The specific unit I purchased is from the 25A season.

Pre-Teardown Weight Test
Weight: 711g (Empty bag)

The Teardown

Drawstring Chain & Lock Button
(Refer to photos for the chain connector construction)

Step 1: Open the connection rings and detach the chain.

The Drawstring Chain:

  • Total links: 117

  • Material: Solid Copper

  • ⚠️ Distressing: The chain features a heavy "Worn Gold" distressed finish. While all hardware is distressed, only the chains reach this specific level of "worn-through" gold effect.

The Lock Button:

  • Structure: As shown in the diagram.

  • Material: Zinc Alloy

The Large Handle Chain

Step 2: Disassemble the blocking plate to detach the main handle chain.

Blocking Plate Components:

  • Material: Solid Copper

  • Branding: Stamped engraving

The Handle Chain:

  • Total links: 50

  • Material: Copper-Clad Aluminum

  • ⚠️ Tech Note: The use of copper-clad aluminum is a deliberate design choice to reduce the overall weight of the bag.

  • ⚠️ Distressing: Same heavy "Worn Gold" effect as the drawstring chain.

Chain Grommets

  • Material: Solid Copper

  • Branding: Stamped engraving

Side Pocket Magnetic Snaps (Male & Female)

Male Component Assembly:

  • Decorative Chanel: Solid Copper / Laser Engraved

  • Screw Nut: Solid Copper

  • Male Screw & Washer: Stainless Iron

  • Support Plate: Aluminum

    • ⚠️ Note: The support plate is placed inside the "ear" of the side pocket flap to maintain its structured shape.

Female Component Assembly:

  • Shell Material: Solid Copper

  • Branding: Stamped engraving

Body Grommets

  • Total: 16 pieces

  • Material: Solid Copper

Leather & Stamping

Main Label Heat Stamping
The leather label is actually part of an open pocket (I’ll show the pocket construction in a later post).

⚠️ Gold Overflow: As shown in the photos, there is a natural "Gold Bleed" around the characters. This specific overflow is a signature trait of a ZP (Retail) unit.

Authentication Plate (Laser Plate)

Teardown Conclusion

⚠️ Final Hardware Note: Every single hardware component features a distressed finish. However, only the chains utilize the heavy "Worn Gold" effect, while the other components feature a standard aged distressing without the "worn-through" look.

That wraps up the deconstruction phase.

As a reminder, the complete journey for this project is broken down into:

Deconstruction → Production → Finished Product Showcase & Comparison.
