This is the production log for the Bruce Studio Prada Brown Suede Belt.
It’s a long-form post. The complete journey is split into:
Deconstruction → Production → Finished Product Showcase & Comparison
Thread Matching:
We use the Gütermann (Germany) color card—the industry standard for luxury brands.

We’ve perfectly matched both the top and bottom thread colors.

The KF 32 Triangle Badge
Features are as follows:
(Note: We order and use the original factory badges. Unlike the standard black versions, these colored badges are only available when the original factory has an active production order. This makes them extremely limited and rare.)

The Badge Rivets
This is a critical authentication point that very few people talk about—or even know how to explain.
On a ZP (Retail) unit, the standard rivets remain consistent in form, regardless of the badge size (different badge specs use different rivet sizes).
(Note: There is a newer version of the rivets which I won’t cover here. However, even the new version does not look like the "FK" rivets shown in the photos. The FK rivet shape is an instant giveaway.)
Side-by-Side: ZP (Retail) vs. FK Rivet Shapes:
The Evolution of the KF 32 Badge (Last 3 Generations)
Aside from vintage versions, all modern front-facing designs are identical because the factory data is unique. Only the back has changed due to mold replacements.
Besides these three generations, there are older ones, but I don't have them on hand for this log. I’ve categorized the three most recent generations (up to May 2025) as: Near-New, Mid-New, and Latest.
As shown below, the front surfaces of all three ZP (Retail) generations are identical. Pay close attention to:
-
The "A" Character: It must be a flat-top. (KF and HH are different factories with different core data, so their traits vary. However, the rule is: for 32 Spec, the 'A' must be flat-top. If it’s pointed, it’s fake. For 38 Spec, the 'A' must be pointed. If it’s flat-top, it’s fake.)

Main Leather Material
Italian Calfskin Suede
⚠️ About Calfskin Suede:
-
The top layer of the ZP (Retail) belt is made from calfskin.
-
Suede is made from the flesh side of the hide. Because calves have finer fibers, the resulting suede is much softer and more refined.

⚠️ Calfhide Size/Scale
As shown in the photo, a single calfskin hide is only this big. Once you cut around defects and scars, it’s impossible to get one continuous strap. This is exactly why the ZP (Retail) top layer features splicing.
The underside, however, is made from adult bovine leather. Adult hides are large enough to cut a full strap, so there is no splicing on the back.
⚠️ Style Note: Using calfskin allows for a smoother, more premium feel and look. Adult bovine suede is much coarser and "rougher" in style.

ZP (Retail) KF 32 Badge (Latest Gen)
The main update is the design of the back (Fig. 4). This happened because the old molds reached the end of their lifespan. While new molds introduce tiny tolerances, the fundamental data on the front remains unchanged.

ZP (Retail) KF 32 Badge
Regardless of the generation, the "A" in "DAL" for a KF32 spec must be a flat-top.

ZP (Retail) KF 32 Badge
⚠️ This specific badge is Dark Brown. (It is difficult to capture the exact hue accurately due to lighting.)

Underside Leather
Italian Top-Grain Nubuck (Adult Bovine)
⚠️ PS: The backing of this belt uses Top-Grain Nubuck. This is original grain-side leather that has been sanded down.
Characteristics: It has a distinct velvety feel, and the pores are "open"—it will absorb water instantly upon contact.

Prototyping
First round: Paper pattern testing.
Available in four sizes: 85 / 90 / 95 / 100.

The Buckle
Rough Cast:
Material: Solid Steel.
(Note: The logo engraving is a post-stamping process.)

Triangle Badge Rivets:
Material: Copper.
Plating: Palladium.
⚠️ This is a vital authentication area.

⚠️ Mandatory Traits of ZP (Retail) Rivets
While there are minor variations across versions, these core traits never change:
-
Texture: As seen in Fig. 1, the surface must be semi-matte with visible micro-pitting. This is a natural result of the required machining process. ZP (Retail) will always have this.
-
Shape: As seen in Fig. 2, the specific geometry is dictated by the factory's processing method. It will never look like the "FK" version, which uses a cheaper, alternative production method.

⚠️ FK Case Study:

Buckle Development
-
Rough Cast: (Testing the engraving data).
-
Engraving Process: Stamping.

-
Full Process: Final assembly and electroplating tests.
⚠️ The plating features a specific distressed/weathered effect.

⚠️ The Significance of the Weight Comparison Test:
-
While identical weight doesn't automatically prove the same materials were used, it is strong evidence. Same Construction + Same Materials = Identical Weight. If the weight is different, the construction or materials are definitely not the same.
-
Same construction/materials is a sufficient condition for identical weight.
-
Identical weight is a necessary condition for same construction/materials.
-
Different weight is a sufficient and necessary condition for different construction/materials.
-
-
Retail batches can vary slightly in weight over different years, but my test proves consistency with the specific ZP (Retail) unit I purchased.
-
This means every single component—from the hardware and internal stabilizers to the leather skiving thickness—must be identical inside and out to achieve this result.
-
In the replica world, I doubt there are no other people capable of this. It requires both high-level technical expertise and massive resource backing.
Weight Test:
Both belts are Size 95.
Result: Both weigh exactly 133g.

That wraps up the production phase.
As a reminder, the complete journey for this project is broken down into:
